R + Hadoop Analytics

Antonio is the instructor in this video and he started with R under the influence of his boss in biotech when he was a fresh Phd graduate from UC Berkeley. More and more students leave school and bring R entering into more and more companies, and then more and more companies begin to use R as an indispensable tool in daily operation. In the business world, about 48% are Revolution users, and SAS users and other users closely behind at 20% and 19%. RHadoop is an open source project and aims to make R and Hadoop work together. Hadoop is a tool to analyze a large amount of data sets and different kinds of data sets, and to analyze computer resources; additionally, Hadoop starts from a solid foundation in storage. With the world development, the data sizes and categories is increasing, based on this situation, people have to look into parallel programming for assisting analyzing data. There should be several different reasons and a number of different forces to push the programming work forward, so programmers have to rewrite and redesign countless of software in the future, but there is no doubt that data size could be a big element to lead into this result.

This video is an interview with HP Solutions and Alliances Global Marketing Manager Irshad Raihan at HP Discover in Frankfurt, Germany to talk about the opportunities of big data in the enterprise and how to use the AppSystem for Apache Haddop to help CIOs get more information from data and help the analysts to analyze data.
