Big Data Can Save Lives

Now we have known a little about the usefulness of the big data. There have been lots of interesting and useful applications in the blog. Today, I want to talk something about how the big data could save our lives. Big data is more powerful than when we thought. We have known that the big data can save time and money. In the area of saving lives, the medical researchers could aggregate cancer data, helping to find new treatment, according to and SAP-sponsored Big Data report [1]. Also, Big Data can reduce the accidents on the road. Here is a good application of that in Edmonton, Canada. The population of Edmonton is around 900,000. The big data is used to redesign the intersections in order to reduce the accidents and fatalities.

Here is a survey on the big data can save lives. 87% of federal and 75% of state IT officials believe real-time Big Data has the potential to save a significant number of lives.

Big Data is powerful which has increased the quality of lives. Also the big data analysis sometimes is cost. It needs the funding to support that. So the government plays an important role in the field of saving lives and increasing the quality of lives by the Big Data analysis.  More information will be updated when I find more latest new related on that.
